USB To RS232

"USB" designates a port on most personal computers that can be used to connect to various external parts, such as mice, keyboards, portable music players, and storage devices. Serial ports, another common type of port on personal computers, are used to connect PCs to modems, PDAs, serial printers, and cash registers. The problem is that although external devices requiring connection with a serial port remain common, more and more PCs are being manufactured with only one serial port, or worse, none at all, as the USB port becomes increasingly ubiquitous.

Luckily, users with an abundance of USB ports and a lack of serial ports have a number of possibilities. They can use one of the many serial port adapters on the market to change their ordinary USB ports into a series of serial ports. One of the most common serial port settings is "R232," as opposed to "R422," which is more commonly used in industrial machines.

Here at Byte Runner Technologies, we stock many different USB to serial port adapters. These products--such as the Y-105 cable--are inexpensive, easy to install, and virtually worry-free. They allow their users to expand a single USB port into two, four, eight, or even sixteen different R232 serial ports.

Of course, USB adapters aren't the only great computer accessories we stock at Byte runner Technologies. We also offer many varieties of video splitters, docking stations, and other types of devices. All our products come with free customer support, and same day shipping, so long as we receive your order before 5:00 PM.
